Chains come in tons of different sizesand shapes. That’s why most chains are labeled as being a specific grade. The strength of a chain increases as its gradeincreases. No matter whether thechains are welded or unwelded; made of iron or stainless steel, the uses of industrial chainsare as diverse as how they are made and what they are made of.

One of the top performing grades of chain is the 100 Grade Chain. One of the lowest grades of chains is grade 30This is also called proof coil chain.

Grade 40/43 is a chain that is 50% stronger than Grade 30 chain. It is alsocalled high-test chain. Typical uses for Grade 40/43 chain includes towing,tying down loads and binding loads.

Every link in Grade 70 chain isheat-treated which makes it theperfect chain to use for binding loads and other transport uses. Grade 70 chain is 60% stronger than Grade 30 chain.

High Performance Rope of America (HPRA) recently purchased a brand new high-powered Wire Rope Stranding Machines to boost their capacity and diversify their products. The new equipment consists of machinery which is capable of producing steel wire strands for the 19,26 and 36 series. This brand new equipment can run at a record-breaking speed of 1,200 rpm which ensures they are the quickest machines in the industry. By using this new equipment, HPRA (High Performance Rope of America) will increase their production rate to reach 1,400 metric tons each and every month moving forward.

The new equipment consist of long pipes and heavy steel elements which were cut in parts to be able to fit in 40-ft containers. Four, 40-foot containers were required for each stranding machine.

Moving and downloading machinery needs to be done with extreme caution. A team of professionals was hired to organize the strategy of the installation process.

Unloading the machine, arranging the equipment by parts, organizing and accounting for every piece is just part of what needs to be accomplished by knowledgeable professionals during this type of work.
